Get Matched with a Therapist
Incredible Therapists Guiding You to Wellness Here to Empower You to be Your Best Self
How Does This Work?
Therapy STEP BY STEP
Choose Your Therapist
The best therapy happens when there is a good match between client and therapist. It's almost like dating. All of our therapists have a photo and bio on the "Meet the Team" page of this website. Take your time and read through bios to choose the therapists you want to consult with. If you would prefer some assistance choosing the best therapist for you, please contact customer service at office@pacificmft.com.
Call, Text, or Email Your Therapist to Set Up a 15 Minute Consultation
It's best practice to "shop around" for a therapist. Contact as many as you like. There is no limit. After the consultation you will be able to decide which therapist felt the most comfortable for you. You can find direct contact information on the "Meet the Team" page.
Let Us Check Your PPO Plan Out-of-Network Benefits
Please provide a picture of the front and back of your medical insurance ID card, date of birth, address associated with the insurance, email address, and if you are a dependant on the plan we will also need the name, date of birth, and address for the primary insured. All of this information can be emailed directly to your therapist of choice or to our customer service department at office@pacificmft.com.
Discuss Your Insurance Benefits and Session Fee
Although we can access insurance information, we often are denied access to allowed amounts. Allowed amounts are only disclosed after the first claim is processed. The allowed amount determines how much reimbursement you can expect from the plan. Your therapist will explain the information to you, so it is as clear as possible. They will discuss your session fee based on the information received from the benefits inquiry.
Confirm Your Session Fee
Session fees are collected at the time services are rendered. Before you have your first appointment, your therapist will discuss their fee with you and the process for reimbursement. The full session fee is collected and client's can expect a reimbursement check delivered to them from the insurance company within about 30 days. The timing can be quicker or longer with some plans. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over the timing of insurance reimbursements. We are very committed to filing claims timely so we do not add unnecessary wait times for reimbursement.
Schedule Your "Intake Session" and Set Up a Weekly Recurring Schedule

Fill Out "Intake" Paperwork
You will receive an email with a link to our electronic healthcare system, TherapyPortal, from your therapist. These forms must be completed before you can have your first session. For your convenience, all forms are sent electronically and signed electronically. The entire process may take 10-15 minutes to complete.
Start Great Therapy
For telehealth sessions, you can find a link to our telehealth video platform. Click on the link and you will be connected to your therapist. For in person sessions, your therapist will be available for you at the office in Santa Monica. When you enter the suite, please take a seat and text or call your therapist to let them know you arrived. They will come to the waiting area to escort you to the room they are using for sessions.
