Tips for Maintaining Sanity During COVID-19 Safer at Home Order
During this challenging time, it's very easy to lose ourselves in the flury of news and updates related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are all adjusting to a new normal, which can be very challenging. Maintaining ones sanity means adjusting to different lifestyles than we are acustomed to. It is important to take action and create new routines and structure for yourself. Unfortunately, it seems our lives will be disrupted for quite some time. Help yourself by taking advantage of the time you have at home and with your family.
Here are some tips we want to share with you that may help you create structure and maintain sanity during these trying times.

Have a daily routine or schedule
Take breaks from technology
Take breaks from the news and social media
Take care of your body, maintain hygiene
Breathe, stretch
Meditate
Eat healthy
Exercise regularly
Maintain good sleep habits
Avoid alcohol and drugs
Make time to unwind and relax
Connect with others regularly by phone, video, text, or email
Seek help when needed
Continue psychotherapy and other therapeutic therapies
Differentiate between what you can and cannot control- Focus on what you can control
Do what makes you feel safe
Get out in nature- even if you are avoiding crowds
Challenge yourself to stay present
Start a gratitude journal
Prepare your favorite foods

Learn something new
Start a Yoga practice
Declutter for 5 minutes at a time
