As we celebrate Black History Month, we take this time to honor the rich heritage, achievements, and enduring resilience of the Black community. This month is not just about reflecting on the past but also recognizing the ongoing journey towards equity, empowerment, and well-being.


The Intersection of Black History and Mental Health

Black history is filled with stories of strength, perseverance, and triumph over adversity. However, the historical and systemic challenges faced by the Black community have also had profound effects on mental health. Issues such as racial trauma, discrimination, and socio-economic disparities can contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression, often compounded by the stigma surrounding mental health within many communities.


Breaking the Stigma and Fostering Healing

At Pacific Marriage and Family Therapy Network, we believe in the power of culturally competent care.
