THERAPIST SPOTLIGHT: Amber Keating, LCSW and Clinical Supervisor
Everything we do lately seems to be a reminder that we’ve been surviving a global pandemic for over a year now. Our lives were involuntarily & radically changed, often overnight. As communities open back up, it’s normal to feel anxious about reacquainting ourselves with pieces of our pre-COVID lives. How do we... reintegrate into public spaces? join together with family and friends safely? navigate this entirely different world? The thinking mind is endless in its questioning and that’s where I can help.
When we notice these incessant questions, the task becomes to quiet the racing mind and tune in to our physical experience. The mind can time travel, but the body cannot (at least not that I know of!). I enjoy helping clients reconnect with their whole selves. We are more than our speeding, ping-pong minds, after all! Somewhere at your core, you have a wise voice that knows your unique answers to whatever questions are nagging you at 2am. Whether it’s stress related to COVID or some other source of unease bubbling up inside you, my body-mind approach supports you in rediscovering joy, gratitude, and ease. If your nervous system needs a little break from all that it’s been carrying the past year (or your whole life), it would be my honor to guide you to a more carefree state.
